One River Point, Dubai: 3D Exterior Visualization & CGI Integration

Placing an unbuilt tower into Dubai’s skyline requires more than a polished model. The building has to sit convincingly within the real city, with its scale and perspective aligned to the photographed location. Render Atelier collaborated with Ellington Properties to create architectural exterior renderings and CGI for One River Point in Business Bay. The project combined photoreal 3D visualization with drone imagery, presenting the proposed residential tower as part of its intended urban setting rather than as an isolated object.
What We Built
Render Atelier produced exterior architectural visualizations for One River Point, with its Business Bay context central to the brief. The work had to communicate the building’s architectural character and residential identity while grounding it in the existing city.
The tower was developed with close attention to its form, façade, glazing, balconies, and vertical proportions. The surrounding skyline could not be treated as a generic backdrop. One River Point needed to read as a credible addition to Dubai’s built environment, with the district helping viewers understand its location, height, and presence. Render Atelier coordinated with a drone-footage operator so the CGI could be matched accurately to real aerial imagery. Camera position, lens perspective, horizon, building scale, lighting direction, reflections, haze, and colour all had to align. A mismatch in any of these areas would make the tower feel inserted rather than captured within the scene.
The final delivery gave Ellington Properties a set of photoreal visuals that presented the intended exterior presence of One River Point. The imagery showed the project in its real urban context, allowing the tower and the Business Bay skyline to read as one continuous environment.

3D Exterior Visualizations
For One River Point, the exterior renderings focused on the tower’s architectural identity within Dubai’s skyline. The form, façade, glazing, balconies, and overall proportions had to remain clear from elevated viewpoints while conveying the quality and modernity of the residential project. Each image showed the building as part of the district around it, not as a standalone tower against an interchangeable city background.
Architectural CGI Rendering
Render Atelier worked with a drone operator to align the architectural CGI with real location imagery. Matching the virtual and physical cameras was essential to achieving the correct perspective and scale. Lighting, reflections, haze, and surrounding context were balanced so the tower belonged naturally within the photograph. This gave the final visuals the credibility of location photography and the control of architectural CGI.
FAQs
Can you place an unbuilt development into real drone photography?
Yes. We can integrate architectural CGI into location photography when suitable site imagery and project information are available. The process involves matching the camera, perspective, scale, lighting, and atmosphere before compositing the building into the scene.
Why is camera matching important?
Camera matching ensures that the rendered building follows the same viewpoint and lens behaviour as the photograph. Without it, proportions, verticals, and relationships with surrounding buildings can feel incorrect.
Do drone images need to be captured specifically for the CGI work?
Purpose-planned photography helps because camera positions can be selected around the intended final compositions. Early coordination also helps ensure the captured material supports accurate CGI integration.
What do you need from us to begin?
We typically need the architectural model or drawings, façade and material information, site coordinates, and available drone photography or a proposed shoot plan. From there, we can define the views, camera requirements, and production scope.
Need to show an unbuilt development in its real skyline context?
We combine architectural CGI with location photography so the final image feels captured, not composited.
