The FIFA Fan Zones are temporary entertainment areas where fans of the sport can watch the matches on giant screens. The spectacular venues offer a festive, safe, and secure atmosphere to enjoy the matches, along with plenty of entertainment options.
We are extremely privileged to be a part of this historic event and were delighted when Filmmaster Event approached us to help them visualize and create the renders for the FIFA 2022 Fan Zones.
This event is unique in many ways- it’s the first time the FIFA World Cup is taking place in the winter and in the Middle East. The novel idea for creating the Fan Zones, where local and international fans can watch the matches for free, has also attracted a lot of praise. Given the event’s global nature and immense importance, the project has been a feather in the hat for our team at Render Atelier.

Understanding The Client Brief
Filmmaster Events is an internationally renowned company in the sector of organization and production of major international, corporate, and sporting events. It successfully produced the opening and closing ceremonies for the Rio 2016 Olympics and Paralympics. It’s safe to say Filmaster Events’ vision for the Qatar World Cup is even grander, and the renders for the Fan Zones could be nothing short of perfect.
Our team spent hours understanding and analyzing the idea behind the Fan Zones. They are more than just a screening destination; they’re being created to provide an immersive experience like no other. The zones can accommodate thousands of people and are massive in size, yet they still have to be visually appealing and blend into the Qatari landscape. They have to be modern, with state-of-the-art architecture, yet be the perfect venue for visitors to experience the famed Qatari hospitality.
After receiving the full brief and plans from the client, we quickly understood that the renderings for this project had to be extraordinary; they had to capture the imagination of millions of local and international individuals who will flock to Qatar in November 2022 to witness the sporting spectacle.

The Render Atelier Rendering Process
Our rendering project took place in two main stages. First, we worked on creating the exterior 3D building renders, creating multiple angles to showcase the building structures, water bodies, and surrounding environment. We made sure that attention was paid to designing the trees and other fauna to look realistic as possible since they are an instantly recognizable feature of the region.
Once the foundation was in place, we added the smaller elements, like people and cars. While these elements might seem minor, they are what make a rendering truly photo-realistic. Immense care is taken to ensure the traditional clothing is represented accurately, and each shadow must be in the correct position.
After our team was satisfied with the first draft, we shared it with the client to get their thoughts. Our rendering process is highly collaborative and incorporates client feedback at every stage. A project is only complete once the client is completely satisfied with the result, and we understand this might require us to create a few iterations of the architectural renders.
